Yoga and Meditation for the first time

YASURAGI

Yasuragi is a Spa located by the forests in Sweden. It is a beautiful building surrounded with beautiful trees and flowers.

We had booked an afternoon slot which began from 1pm up until 11pm. Everything was talked through with us by the lovely staff who worked there and it was the most relaxing place I had ever been to. There was also a three course meal included with lovely fresh foods.

This spa has a variety of activities to take part in, being:

  • Sauna Yoga
  • Yasuragi Yoga
  • Do In / Qi Gong
  • Journey With Tibetan Singing Bowls
  • Zen Meditation
  • Heart Chakra Meditation

You can also read about the activities and what they are used for here: https://yasuragi.se/en/baths/activities/

I took part in the Yasuragi Yoga as I have always wanted to try Yoga! It was hard..anyone who does Yoga I am jealous! It can be relaxing, painful and satisfying all at once. I’d love to join a beginners Yoga and properly get into it, however, for now I do think that the gym is more for me.

The Zen Meditation however, I loved! I had mediated properly for the first time ever in this class. I have tried meditation in the past but I find it so hard to concentrate your thoughts and mind when you are alone. It really helped listening to someone, following the voices and noises then falling into meditation.

Also there were no phones allowed in a lot of the areas so that is why I have no images of the beautiful baths but you can find some wonderful images on their website. It was nice to have a break from social media, the whole day was about relieving stress and relaxation.

The products they had at the spa were from the brand Hada. Their skincare is unreal! I used the lavender oil on my face and body and it was amazing! So if you have delicate or dry skin I would definitely look into their skincare!

MOVING AWAY AT 18

“I need change”

I have lived in the UK all my life. I am now 18 and have decided to move to Sweden. Sounds random..I know.

I moved completely on my own on Friday the 14th of September. It has definitely been the hardest thing that I have ever done. I left behind my family, my friends and my boyfriend. I don’t think I fully understood how challenging it was to be completely independent. All things like travelling on your own, whether it is to work or to the shop become lonely. I have discovered that you have to be patient when it comes to change. It is not easy, but it is sometimes necessary.

Sweden is a beautiful place and I have always loved it as a child. I remind myself everyday how lucky I am to have had the opportunity to move away at such a young age. One thing I have realised is how much I rely on my mum!! Even though she is thousands of miles away she still manages to tell me how to get to and from work..nearly every day.
